The Old O’Possum Creek Schoolhouse
In March 1911, O’Possum Creek Public School opened its doors to local pupils. The school was built on the northern side of Opossum Creek, a 27ft by 22ft building with a verandah on the northern side, close to Friday Hut Road, which in those days was the main track between Murwillumbah and Ballina.
Situated 7km from Bangalow and 18km from Byron Bay at 471 Friday Hut Road, The Hut Byron Bay is set amongst the old school grounds.
